Issue: Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing has issued an urgent recall for certain 2022–2026 models with Panoramic View Monitor (PVM) systems. A software error may prevent the rearview camera from displaying properly while reversing – a critical issue that violates federal safety standards.
This recall affects over 1,024,000 vehicles, including Toyota, Lexus, and Subaru Solterra units.
Remedy: This defect reduces the driver’s ability to see behind the vehicle, increasing the potential for back-over accidents. Dealers will update the parking assist software, free of charge.
