Issue: Engine bearings may have manufacturing defects, leading to engine failure. This increases the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect the engine oil pan for metal debris and, if necessary, repair or replace the engine. For vehicles with the 1.5L VC-Turbo engine, dealers will replace the oil pan gasket, engine oil, and reprogram the engine control module if no debris is found. For vehicles with the 2.0L VC-Turbo engine, only an oil replacement is needed if no debris is present. All repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed August 25, 2025.
