Issue: Engine oil degradation may cause engine bearings to seize, resulting in engine failure. In rare cases, damage may cause hot oil discharge, increasing the risk of an engine fire.

Remedy: Dealers will reprogram the engine control module (ECM) software, inspect for diagnostic trouble codes, test drive the vehicle, examine the oil pan for metal debris, and replace the engine if necessary, with all repairs performed free of charge.
